As for "the documentation is lacking" part, the easiest test is to look for literally :: within the Qt-for-Python docs. For example, I start from https://doc.qt.io/qtforpython-6/modules.html, pick QtCore, randomly scroll to QFile, look for ::, and there it is! Returns the complete OR-ed together combination of QFile::Permission for fileName.
