Wow i just found out that the "battle net/Blizzard" software was created using QtQuick

Quick/QML was heavily motivated by mobile development, that's why the solutions we usually see on iOS or Android are QML based.
However, many people like the declarative approach of declaring UIs, so they prefer to go with Quick/QML
Widgets has been there since the beginning of Qt....from around '89, and so far it's the most stable and well known approach.

So I'd say, and this is purely my opinion, if you want to do desktop applications, go for Widgets, and if you are considering deploying to mobile platforms, use Quick/QML
which also look 'qml-ish', or 'modern' one can say

just get familiarized with either, and try to the other approach once you feel like to could build a normal application. It might be a matter of taste

Hi folks, is there reason to choose QThread over standard python thread ? My use case is calling a "heavy computing python Slot" from qml code.

Looking at the doc, it seems the easiest way is to use QtConcurrent.run(function) but it seems the "run" function is missing in PySide
