Here's what the documentation says

Since the process relies on a Qt installation, you need to specify where the qtbase directory of a Qt source tree is located by passing it to the command line option --qt-src-dir.

But the qtbase does not know where it is or what it is

I already have the pyside-setup

Pass this command

py .\setup.py build --build-docs --doc-build-online --ignore-git --parallel=8

you can download the pre compile libclang versions or make sure to install the same that's linked to the shiboken generator binary, and get the version you need of shiboken_generator from https://download.qt.io/official_releases/QtForPython/

additionally, you can use either a self build python or use pyenv to get other versions

the reason of the lack of support, is because 5.15 is only in maintenance mode, all the development is in 6.x We did backport some support to get 3.10 working on 5.15, but it will not happen with 3.11

I'm not aware of how the packaging on the 5.x version works on ubuntu, at least I know in other OS they only include the shiboken module, not the generator.

When building wrappers I tend to use LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/<your venv path>/lib64/python3.10/site-packages/PySide6/Qt/lib
