Embarrassing Aug 25 Yesterday, Doug Ford held a press conference and threw a temper tantrum. Instead of laying out an economic strategy for Ontario in the wake of collapsed tariff negotiations, Ford hurled insults at U.S. President Donald Trump: "I have more courage, more brains in my baby toe than he has in his whole body." "He can kiss my ass, and I have a lot of real estate on my ass, so he has a lot of room to kiss my ass." "I've dealt with guys like you my whole life, and guess what? You'll all become losers, because you're a loser." Predictably, the retaliation was swift. Trump fired back on Truth Social, calling Ford "the less charismatic, intelligent, and overall unimpressive brother of the late, great Rob Ford" — exposing Ontario to international embarrassment. Doug Ford wants us to believe he scored a "win." He didn't. Ford inserting himself into a federal trade war does not save jobs or lower costs; it just makes Ontario a laughingstock. This is what happens when a weasel tries to play cowboy. Ontario needs leadership focused on Ontario, not insulting our biggest trading partner or trying to influence American voters. And rather than blaming Trump for our economic troubles, the Ford PCs should be doing everything in their power to lower taxes, reduce hydro rates, and axe their own industrial carbon tax to bring businesses back to Ontario. But the Ford PCs will never own up to their fiscal policy failures.  That is why Ontario needs a real conservative party to take charge. Hey everyone, It brings me so much joy to share that I’m in remission now, and looking back, my cancer journey was incredibly tough but also eye opening.
