Other groups are pursuing similar capabilities with far greater resources, currently we're in a vulnerable place. Our research asymmetry is Torus’s main advantage/value today. Publishing prematurely could let others operationalize it first and capture the value, leaving torus behind. We need confidentiality until we got it operational and ready to scale.

The confidentiality you are referring to is precisely the kind of thing that should have been in place before launching the project and putting a token on the market. If you did not have that level of confidentiality at the time, then why launch the project and the token in the first place?
