It turns your favorite email newsletters you consume for work and life into a personal five-minute audio morning newscast, and is sent to you as a text message at the time you pick. Hark was inspired by a family friend who's father had a stroke and lost his sight. She thought that there was an opportunity that something like Hark could help her father along with many people within the visually impaired community.
I have worked very hard on trying to make this experience as accessible to the visually impaired community with headings on every screen, spoken confirmations for every action, links and sentences that read as single clean stops. I have learned and tested with voiceover on the iphone and Talkback on Android. There is more information located at
What I haven't been able to do properly is test with screenreaders on Windows, and I'd rather hear the truth from people who use it every day than guess. If you are willing to sign up, listen to a briefing, poke around at some relevant pages, and tell me honestly where it is rough, I would really appreciate it and I would be happy to pay for user testing.
