The farmers are suffering heavily under Trump and many of them are not going to make it. The farms themselves will still survive and food will still be produced... Under new management. Soon, farmers will join the 90℅ of Americans who are forced to rent out their labor in exchange for a paycheck. Like most working Americans of this category, they will work for a giant megacorp where they will be stripped of control, agency, be alienated from their labor and dispossessed from their land and even equipment. Enclosure 2.0 Farmers will be forced to sell their properties and entire businesses to corporations like Tyson foods and will just become salary working employees. Family farms will become much rarer. This is nothing new, we have seen this trend happening for decades, the difference is it will accelerate much more quickly than ever before. Food quality, saftey, animal treatment will inevitably decline while prices go even higher. The only good news is this puts even rural conservative places in solidarity with the average American worker, because that is what they too will become.
