I think @owocki will really like Integral, especially the Collaborative Decision System. I've been following Peter Joseph for years but he has impressed me again with this. It's the work of genius.

It's the Weird Wild Web, and you know it!
Of all the promises, that one was kept: we can observe it through the pocket-calculators. Seen from planet dyne however, the popcorn is always included! 🍿
Stay weird. Stay free.

Your community shouldn't need a landlord.
Think about the online spaces where your group gathers: the book club, the running crew, the neighborhood watch, the regulars at your local café. Chances are, you're meeting on a platform someone else owns. And when you leave that platform? You leave behind your connections, your history, your conversations.
There's another way.
No phone number or email required. Your community's conversations live on a relay, which you can run yourself, on a cheap computer, even just on your local network.
We've built a working version of this idea using existing tools. It's not science fiction. It's running right now! And it's ready for your bar, your block, your book club.

Everything that once felt connected suddenly is. Interfaced by brittle constructions of channeled electricity, we project ourselves into the ether. And there, in the ocean of data, our identities blend. Locality becomes osmosis. And realms flow into each other through their veil.
Welcome home, fellow dyne.

Dear all,
we have just published a peer-reviewed article on municipal tokens as urban policy tools, using LVGA and the MyLugano app as a concrete case study:
https://www.p2pfisy.com/research-papers/municipal-tokens-as-urban-policy-tools-the-case-of-lvga-and-the-mylugano-app
I contributed the final chapter, where I set out privacy-by-design principles for municipal digital identity.
Municipal digital infrastructure can become a tool for autonomy, coordination, business and public value. Or it can become another surveillance layer with a friendlier interface. The difference is in the privacy design choices we make early.

The bigger vision behind the commons hub: turning our Alpine valley into a real-world commons for living, production, stewardship, and shared infrastructure — just published on Michel Bauwens’ blog:

L Would really love to come and meet you all but I am too busy having kids right now. I have succeeded on understanding the local grant system in Tarragona, Spain so that I can count on regular funding to kinkstart altruistic networks (decentralized library of things, gift corners, repair parties) here. It's a challenge to get people to adopt new behaviors but little by little it is catching on. Two weeks ago we started a gift corner right outside our door and everyday someone leaves an object in good shape for anybody to pick up.

Attempts to make P2P cash over the Internet started before Bitcoin, see, for example, "Peer-to-peer money: free currency over the internet"
by Kenji Saito from 2003, or original RipplePay idea and service by Ryan Fugger from 2005. Cryptocurrency
space ignored earlier work and started own attempts to do p2p cash, such as Lightning / Cashu / Fedimint etc.
Thus we have two non-intersecting worlds: original p2p cash which is based on p2p trust, and cryptocurrency-backed which
does require for 100% backing with cryptocurrencies. We combine the best from two worlds in Basis:
* money issuance can be based purely on trust
* optionally, on-chain reserves on Ergo can back issued p2p cash
* it is up to a peer to demand for backing, to choose whom to trust, whom to blacklist etc
* thus this is providing self-sovereign control on what kind of money (and so risk) to accept
* we also call it free digital banking on steroids
Basis is a low-level framework which can be used in many monetary applications, such as:
* community currencies (LETS, local currencies etc)
* value transfer networks, informal (such as Hawala) and formal
* agentic economies
and so on
There could be multiple coexisting Basis based communities (using different instances of the same software). They can always have economic connections via on-chain reserves, it would be good to
explore more efficient options.
Whitepaper is at https://github.com/BetterMoneyLabs/chaincash/blob/master/docs/basis/basis.pdf

Working on a simple wallet now. Looking for communities willing to play with it!

hi guys! we're having an Artizen residency within Valley of the Commons @ the Commons hub at the end of the month and would love to see some people from the Commons Stack community there!
the residency runs from Aug 31 to Sep 12, and we’re inviting around 20 builders, community weavers, technologists, researchers, artists and other creators who are imagining and building more liveable futures to spend one or two weeks together at the Hub.
this will be a slower event, with time to work on your projects or on things that come up there, and plenty of time to draw inspiration from the mountains and the river and the beautiful people around you :)
You can read more about it and apply here:

Hey friends, a quick update on Conspire!
I’m building Conspire as a tiny, simple chat server. You open a room, share its link and start chatting: no accounts, sign-ups or complicated setup. You can also share files directly from your browser while you’re connected.
I’ve recently added support for both the regular web and Tor. People arriving through either network can now meet in the same room, so someone on the clearnet can chat and exchange files with someone using the .onion address.
I also found and fixed a nasty bug that disconnected the person sharing a file when somebody started downloading it. File transfers are working again.
I’ve packed the whole interface and dashboard inside the Conspire binary too, making it much easier to run and update.
In case you use it, please let me know if anything behaves strangely, real-world testing helps me enormously 💚
