Trading activity in TradFi perpetual futures on Binance is growing rapidly — trading volume has already exceeded $153 billion just a couple of months after launch, and the number of trades has reached tens of millions. The main interest is concentrated in gold and silver, which account for the lion’s share of volume and show multi-billion daily turnover: peak activity exceeds 6 million trades per day. This shows how crypto exchanges are becoming global platforms that combine crypto and traditional markets in a 24/7 format.

Gold and stock futures on Binance surpass most cryptocurrencies in trading volume Recently launched gold and silver futures on the largest crypto exchange Binance have ranked in the top five by trading volume among all instruments on the platform, trailing only perpetuals on BTC, ETH, and SOL. Crypto futures on stocks of Tesla, Circle, Strategy, Coinbase, and Robinhood are also starting to gain traction on Binance, outpacing many crypto assets. On the first full trading day following their launch, oil futures on Binance — CLUSDT (WTI crude oil) and BZUSDT (Brent crude oil) — also showed high volumes, ranking third and fourth among products in the traditional asset sector. These can be traded on the exchange with leverage up to 100x.

Back in 2010, Satoshi explained that if Bitcoin's existing cryptographic protection ever became vulnerable, the network could be migrated to a new algorithm in advance. In other words, he didn't build a ready-made "quantum shield," but he did design Bitcoin with the ability to upgrade its cryptography long before today's concerns about quantum computing emerged.

On-Chain Mind: Currently, the production cost of one Bitcoin is approximately $76k. The spot price sits around $65k, meaning the average miner's profitability is -13%. In every previous cycle, periods when the price traded below production cost ended up being exceptional accumulation zones rather than the start of a 'death spiral'.

In mid-July, the sentiment of traders trading Bitcoin options became noticeably more optimistic. 📈 The ratio of open positions for put and call options remained stable at around 0.65 throughout June, and then, starting July 15, dropped to approximately 0.53 — right at the moment when the likelihood of the CLARITY Act being passed began to rise again. 📉📜

Crypto trader suffers over $1M unrealized loss on short of China's most valuable company post-IPO 📉 An unknown crypto trader on Hyperliquid has incurred an unrealized loss of over $1M on their short position in a perpetual futures contract for the Chinese memory manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT). According to data from Hypurrscan, at the time of publication, they are holding a short position with a notional value of approximately $17.7M using leverage. Today, CXMT shares debuted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and rose more than 500% in yuan during trading, making it the most valuable public company in China by market capitalization at its peak. The CXMT IPO became the largest in Asia in 2026 and the largest offering in mainland China since 2010. Even before trading began, the TradeXYZ platform based on Hyperliquid launched perpetual futures on CXMT shares. These are the first crypto perps on a Chinese company's stock in principle. At the time of publication, the trader's position remains open. In addition to the unrealized loss of over $1M, they have already paid about $293K in funding fees. Their position will be liquidated at a price of $17.75. Their trading wallet still holds over $30M in the USDC stablecoin.

Bitcoin's hashrate has been declining for 287 consecutive days, marking the longest miner capitulation in history. Mining difficulty has fallen nearly 20% from its all-time high—the third-largest decline on record. Despite this, mining stocks continue to rise. Analysts attribute the divergence to miners increasingly shifting their focus from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure and services. The CEO of MARA, the largest publicly traded Bitcoin miner in the U.S., recently said that the company's AI business is now generating significantly more revenue than its cryptocurrency mining operations.

Major miner Riot sold 4,300 bitcoins and closed the quarter with a $237 million loss American mining company Riot Platforms reported selling 4,300 BTC to fund operations and expand its data center network. At the end of the second quarter, the company held 11,380 BTC on its balance sheet, of which 5,821 BTC are pledged as collateral for loans. This ranks Riot 13th among the largest corporate bitcoin holders. During the quarter, Riot mined 1,587 BTC, an 11% increase from the previous year. The average cost to mine one bitcoin, excluding depreciation, was $49,912. However, mining revenue decreased by 19.3% to $113.7 million, and the company's net loss amounted to $237 million. Earlier this week, it was reported that the company signed a 20-year contract to provide computing power to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude neural network. The contract is expected to generate approximately $9.1 billion in revenue for Riot by 2048.

The Antminer S21 XP series topped the miner profitability rankings for July The Antminer S21 XP 270 TH/s ASIC miner model demonstrated the best profitability among tested devices for July 2026, according to a report by data center operator Intelion. Over the past month, its profitability reached 1.12% (13.42% annualized). The top three also included the Antminer S21 PRO 234 TH/s MIX and the Whatsminer M70 222 TH/s. According to Intelion, the mining economy in July was shaped by factors such as a sequential decrease in network difficulty and the stabilization of the Bitcoin exchange rate following a prolonged decline. Analysts noted that the July dynamics reflect the adaptation of the network's total computing power to the changed market conditions.

Ethereum plans to protect the network from quantum threats by December 2029 Developers from the Ethereum Foundation have published a list of 62 proposals (EIPs) for the future Hegotá upgrade and set a goal to protect the network from the quantum threat by December 2029. Two changes have been designated as mandatory. The first, FOCIL (EIP-7805), is intended to prevent large block builders from censoring individual transactions. The second, Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), will add account abstraction to Ethereum. Wallets will be able to use their own signature schemes, pay fees on behalf of users, and combine multiple actions into a single transaction without external services. The Hegotá upgrade itself will not yet implement quantum protection, but the EF describes it as a stage upon which the schedule for subsequent hard forks depends.

Sentiment: Yesterday, the Senate blocked the CLARITY bill. News feeds report that this is what crashed the market. $BTC had been declining for twelve days prior to the vote. 📉 The price peak occurred on September 3; by the time trading closed before the vote, the price had dropped by approximately 5%. 🗳 The voting period itself accounted for an additional 1.7% decline. 📊 Thus, the vote accounted for less than a quarter of the total 7% decline. 🔀 The weighted sentiment indicator reached a 30-day high on September 14 — one day before the vote. 📈 Social media mention volume reached a 14-day high on September 15. At the time of the bill's failure, sentiment remained positive. We cannot precisely determine what triggered the decline during the remaining twelve days. An FOMC decision is expected today.

Vitalik Buterin believes that AI could weaken modern cryptography before quantum computers do. Over time, even post-quantum schemes and ECDSA could potentially come under threat. He does not recommend panicking or rushing to move funds, but suggests using addresses that have never sent a transaction whenever possible.
