Recently a friend lost 20 lac due to one of those. I don't know what the hell motivated him to trade despite me constantly telling him not to unless he has done extensive research of his own first. 🤦‍♂️.

what I have seen mostly is 10% greed but rest of 90% is ego and overconfidence. they think just because someone else is making profit that means it's damn easy and they are super intelligent and will make far more profits. lol. lot of them has dream to show off their profits to make themselves look superior.

people want shortcuts very few think about if it was actually profitable then why is it being shared market does not have infinite volume - the more people trade your profitable strat the more your profits will reduce

Multi-broker, deduplicated market-data feed for Shoonya/NorenWS-style WebSocket protocol (Shoonya, Flattrade, and compatible brokers). Connects to several broker accounts at once, merges their ticks into a single deduplicated stream, and optionally builds OHLC candles from that stream. https://github.com/Tapanhaz/fsticker :: please check the readme for implementation details .

this sounds good idea but it's really not. believe me. this makes the worst possible candles with lot of noise which you don't want during live market.

It does best-effort deduplication (for second level timestamps what we can do best) if multiple connections are provided to handle broker drops, but can be used with a single connection as well.

it's good to collect multiple source data. but just combining them simply will make the worst candles. it's more useful to back test your strategies on different sources and have a confidence that it will work on all of them.

unioning the datasets and running a 'select distinct' is not the way

Gaurav Mehta works for US Bank Client and @SB , thanks for sharing these valid observations. I have not used this code myself personally, it is shared by @Tapan, so maybe he could shed more light on the rationale behind this. 👍

I doubt even they read it. Probably got lazy and passed the text through a LLM.

it's just a formality they do to show that they taken feedback. in reality they do whatever shit they want to do.
