As a newbee in qt (almost 1 month), I have good knoledge in python but nothing in C++. I'm discovering almost everything. here are my most struggling points as beginner are about qml integration, which seems great but not so straightforward with qt for python. There a some small tutos for beggining but it's not easy to do more complex things. Here are my interrogations as a newbe after on month :
- is it usable in production ?
- a clear and obvious way to use Slot, Property and Signal to make python and qml communicate with list, dict... I really suffered in finding answers on it even it's really working great.
- what about packaging : fbs is great for QtWidget but what about qml ? Personnaly I kept all qml files un fbs resource directory and imported it via a QRC file but I don't know if it's good practice.
- the last thing for now which makes me still hesitate of using it is about testing. I found a qmltestrunner in the Qt distribution by accident in the bin directory but there is nothing in the pyside2 wheel. And as I'm talking to you I don't know if it's possible to run a qml test suite from python like it's doable from c++ : https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtquicktest-index.html. How to import python Qobject class in a qml test ?
- this last point returns to the first : qml/qtforpython is experimental or ok for production ?
- what is still not ported from c++ ?
