FindProxyForURL() is for what then ?
i want qtwebengine to use tor's DNS resolver
To set a proxy for HTTP(S) requests
this is already working, what i want is the dns resolving to go through tor
then you need --host-resolver-rules
ah, excellent, i'll try it
ah so you need to know your dns port in advance then
—host-resolver-rules allows to specify a dns port ?
no, all it does is blocking DNS requests which would otherwise be done directly (instead of via the proxy)
resolving seems to fail now
--host-resolver-rules="MAP * ~NOTFOUND , EXCLUDE socks5://127.0.0.1:9052"
resolving works now gotta check what chromium is doing ...
the EXCLUDE part should probably be localhost or 127.0.0.1 (a host, not a URL)
is that without the resolver-rules, qtwebengine doesn't DNS-leak anything, it seems to go through tor
