I'm guessing the getBatchContractStorage api can only return 50 items.
Do you guys know why there are so much limitations?

Is there a better way to fetch an array of data that has more than 256 items? Iost appears to have limits on the amount of data that it fetches out of the contract.

You can use a string and concatenate an array much larger than that.

If you look at ethereum, there's a reason it doesn't scale, and it's because you can just spam it with as much data as you want which results in poor performance and DoS

I think the limits on the node RPC API are probably due to LevelDB.

I think in terms of getting started in general the documentation isn't going to be the best on newer chains like IOST and Tron.
it allows you do deploy from the web.
