onfirmed something even more dangerous while working on alternative front end for IGRS: IGRS submission and email system were a total cybersecurity fail. Not only that the IGRS site is very slow to open, submission were uploaded to Google Drive without any kind of viewing access restriction - which even Google Drive itself for rating system like this is definitely one hell of a choice, the API of the website were accessible to public, leading to numerous conversations between gamedevs and IGRS, along with various gameplay footage of unreleased games, being easily leaked. Some of the titles that had the gameplay footage leaked was 007 First Light, Echoes of Aincrad and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. While it has been patched since 13th, the situation got even worse:
Me_Finity claiming Bandai Namco has been in contact with them to confirm whether the leaked materials and links has been taken down, along with contacting the acting Komdigi minister for further details.
Nic McConnell of Riot even went as far as explaining that the process of IGRS rating submission is heavily manual and confirmed the use of Google Drive for the submission, and there's lack of context on the documentation, the IGRS was described as 'too small and being given a huge task without real resources' to the point where meetings were hard to come by and only a small amount of good people are willing to talk, and even that took a lot of screaming into IGRS.
Indonesians rallied on the IGN and VGC Twitter post demanding every single developer to sue Komdigi for all of their incompetence, some even demand to sue Indonesia government.

Ticketmaster, Live Nation are an illegal monopoly, U.S. jury rules

A jury found Wednesday that entertainment giant Live Nation, which hosts tens of thousands of concerts a year, and its Ticketmaster subsidiary had a harmful monopoly over big venues.

HUDIMMS - because you could, doesn't mean you should!

ASRock, partnering with TEAMGROUP, have made ranges of Intel chipset motherboards compatible with what they call HUDIMM (also HSODIMM). These are DIMMs making use of DDR5's sub-channels structure and only populate one of them giving 32-bit width, compared to 64-bits of a standard module. This is claimed to enable offerings of lower cost ram. Lower cost doesn't necessarily mean better value.

Where do I even start. How about performance, or lack thereof. Above is a marketing slide where they claim an 16+8GB combination using one standard DIMM and one HUDIMM gives higher bandwidths and lower latency than a single 24GB conventional module. If you look at their numbers though, while it is technically true, the differences are insignificant in the region of low single digit %. If you had two conventional modules instead, you'd get around double the bandwidths.
Will other module makers go on board this? Or will you be single source limited to TEAMGROUP? Likewise, will other mobo manufacturers enable support for this? If all it takes is a BIOS update, maybe? Time will tell if it gains momentum or will die with ASRock.
These modules also differ from full width 4 chip modules, since those will have 16-bits per chip, compared to 8-bits per chip for 8 chip modules.
I'm trying to look positively on this, but I'm struggling to come up with a scenario where it makes sense. I'm sure one of these 4 chip modules will cost less than an 8 chip module, but it wont be half the cost for half the capacity since there will be a lot of stuff that

Videocardz website 'targeted' in scraping act.... by AMD 'War Room'
Summary
Videocardz, prominent website known for its leaks/ rumors heavy reporting, along with (at least for me) summarizing reviews with great list of reviewers that made a review for a major product launch (especially CPU/ GPU), caught AMD doing something shady to their website. The site got hammered with over 26K+ requests - most of them invalid, and after they done the check on the traffic, it was found to be originating from AMD's network in Markham under 'War room' label, that location is home of the old ATI HQ in Canada that are now, obviously, are one of AMD offices. While it seems that the traffic has stopped not long after the report went up, Videocardz warned AMD that they will block the network if it continues.

Basically, any foreign portable hotspot devices, especially MiFi and CPE (cellular router) devices are very much a no no. Of course corporations don't want transparency of their ineptitude. But this seems intentional? Is this merely the car company covering up flaws because the fix is more expensive than a few deadly outcomes? (The Verdict movie reference) This case seems like intentionally covering-up a severe vulnerability multi-vector surface, possibly to maintain a insecurity backdoor into systems. It's on likely a billion of devices. Very infamously Lenovo was caught in the Superfish BIOS-level reinstall persistence scandal, and Sony BMG with the rootkit scandal.
Conspiracy theorists would say this is CIA NSA black ops maintaining backdoors on everyone. With Mythos supposedly finding hundreds if not thousands of vulnerabilities, is this intentional incompetence to help artificially create a case for "needing" AI by sabotaging the real human work? Or, "Never attribute to malice that which incompetence explains"?

I also have 3 desktops 2 that aren't my primary systems running Mint and my main desktop/Gaming system running Windows 11. I'm currently working on duel booting my Windows 11 laptop to have both linux and windows on it to eliminate this old Probook. But for basic functions like surfing the Web, typing emails, etc.. the experience is good, and I have been using the Linux laptop more than the Window one as of late. Now I can't fully remove Window as an option, there are just somethings Windows makes simpler and less of an hassle like gaming. The one Linux Desktop system is setup for gaming, so I might play with the gaming part of linux a bit more. But I would like to see more gaming developers and software developers to spend time to create their software to work on Linux without the need of using emulators of some sort.

On one hand, this means beginners can learn Blender and the other tools alongside Claude AI faster than YouTube videos can show as long (as they're fine with spending the time setting up Claude to work with Blender, which can take anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour depending on the experience of the user.) On the other hand, multiple users who have tested the Blender side of things noted that the geometric work acts as a base rather than the final product due to its lower quality, and that Claude AI fails to work well on more "technical" scenes - for example, u/KIRI_Engine_App on r/Blender recorded their test of using Claude AI alongside Blender with a good summary.
Claude uploaded a video of what the AI can do on Autodesk Fusion and Blender, and I'm expecting more demos to release in the near future. Edge browser leaves passwords exposed in plain text, says researcher

A Norwegian researcher has identified an issue with Microsoft Edge’s Password Manager that could be a serious concern for businesses.
Tom Jøran Sønstebyseter Rønning found that passwords are being saved within the browser in plain text, with the effect that any PC, particularly a shared machine, within an organization is a potential risk.

In a post on X, Rønning explained that when users save passwords in Edge, the browser decrypts every credential at startup and keeps it resident in process memory, regardless of whether the user visits the site.
Rønning’s finding was replicated by German IT publication Heise.de, which created and saved a password and found that, even after the browser had been closed and re-opened, the password could be found in plain text.
Microsoft has been nonchalant about the discovery. It said, “Design choices in this area involve balancing performance, usability, and security, and we continue to review it against evolving threats. Browsers access password data in memory to help users sign in quickly and securely — this is an expected feature of the application.” Microsoft dismissed the significance of the passwords’ visibility, saying, “Access to browser data as described in the reported scenario would require the device to already be compromised.”
My thoughts
I use Edge at work do to requiring access to certain Legacy web Applications and just stuck with it as a regular browser at work. At home I've shifted to Firefox and currently enjoying the experience and I've used Google Chrome in the past and may go back to it at work as it's been approved to use over Firefox (I believe it has to do with Enterprise
