Qt for Python (PySide/Shiboken)

Hi, I'm able to change the color of a Qtableview header background and the background for the same table (the empty space without cells), but not at the same time. The style sheet seems to ignore one of them. I've tried declaring the properties in my code and in the stylesheet editor in designer. I've read the documentation and couldn't find an example of this, stackoverflow only addresses one or the other.. any advice?

https://tox.wiki/ - task runner for Python (think Makefile without the dependency stuff). It takes care of creating a virtualenv, installing your project and additional dependencies (say pytest and pytest-qt), and then running a command (say pytest). And then you can repeat the same things e.g. for multiple Python or Qt versions easily.

yes, or additional ones from a tox.ini where you define its environment - e.g. you could have py{37,...,311}-pyside{515,...,65} environments defined, and then if you run tox -e py311-pyside65 it will create a virtualenv with Python 3.11, install PySide 6.5, and run pytest in it.

there is https://github.com/tox-dev/tox-pyenv but apparently it doesn't work with tox 4 anymore

I have come to a conclusion that qtquick for py needs further development in these days. Too many bugs lol🤣

I'm using tox to run unit tests and also build wheels and cx_Freeze-based stand-alone installers for windows. It creates a virtual environment for each configuration, and automatically re-creates them when it detects a change in the requirements. It does come with a rather large overhead, though. The internal environment verification does take some time, which can be an order of magnitude higher than the actual test/command runtime.

? I am confused how you said that. Were you meaning to say that in Qt Designer, some options text has changed, and the translation to Farsi is incorrect now? If so, file a bug at https://bugreports.qt.io and detail how to reproduce it, and what to look for.

in most of the cases, no point in getting a file descriptor if you're closing the file after - if you need a file descriptor to pass to some library, you probably need more long-term access to the file

of course. directly leaving the context manager after obtaining the file descriptor is pointless. I’d put the library calls or whatever within the context. That prevents resource leaks, similarly to a try-finally block

which would indeed cause issues like the one mentioned, because e.g. a QSocketNotifier will need to have access to the open file even after your context manager ends
