maybe someone here can help me...
i know the basics of Qprocess, and how to launch and receive message for the process. my question is whether there is a way to connect to an program that is ALREADY running in the background. i realize that program would need to be designed to output data, but can qt connect to a prorogram that it doesn't "own"? thanks.
Guys, I still don't get how to use slots/signals, specially how to annotate a method on Python. I want to have a method receiving an object/array from Qml and work on this on python. Then, I want to output to Qml either an Object or a Dictionary.
So far, I have only one connection that uses QVariant. I could copy and paste, but I would still not have an understanding. On my search at the docs I could not find anything strictly related to these annotations.

Here is an example of Signal, Slot, Property from one of my project. You can use it as a reference :

result parameter is the return type
other positional arguments are the data types of the arguments that will be used to typecast the data from qml when the slot is called
Suppose you want to call this slot from qml :
// lets say myFunc returns an integer
x = myFunc("testStr", 123);
The respective slot annotation(or decorator if you wish to call it that) should be like this
@Slot(str, int, result=int)
def myFunc(self, arg1, arg2):
# Here arg1 is "testStr"
# And arg2 is 123
return 3.141

There can be typos or other small mistakes as I didnt test the code.. I just wrote it here in telegram
