But I found what makes it tick! self.setAttribute(QtCore.Qt.WA_TranslucentBackground) self.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Window | QtCore.Qt.FramelessWindowHint) self.setStyleSheet("QMainWindow {background:transparent;}")

One needs all three and anything that has a solid background and can be styled needs {background:transparent;} as well.

Glad to see that pyside6 is growing and I found some new tips in the blog (new to me, at least: QML Element decorator, examples, Nuitka ...). But since I'm also an embedded user and developer, I'd like to see pyside6 on ARM devices as well. It could be live and work in a niche, but I think good support for ARM (RaspberryPI and cousins) would be great. I also use and propose python in schools or makers spaces, and also having a framework to generate excellent GUIs is essential. For this I hope soon to see PySide6 also on ARM, because now examples and official documentation of "Qt for Python" uses this. At the moment I am forced to stay on PySide2

I found it super awesome that you're pushing for PyPy!!! WHow! 🚀

The only 'temporary solution' is to rely, at least for some embedded systems, on ArchlinuxARM or Manjaro, since they have as a system package the latest pyside

Whats with the QDBus thats unavailable on Windows?

perhaps can run on bsd? no idea

I mean with widgets you get all sorts of nasty visual issues but I'm drawing stuff anyway.
Huh, graphics view. What benefits does that have over just using the QPainter API?
I've been delving into QGraphicsView use too - but just because Qt Charts is implemented using it, and I've had some customers that have desired new features and bugfixes to Qt Charts.

If anyone wants to play around with creating their own controls style for QML - I have ported the Qt Quick Controls 2 flatstyle example to PySide2. You can find it here: https://github.com/keithel/flatstyle-python It wasn't at all complicated to port it from C++ to python - just took a few minutes - but I figured it might be useful to someone.

I wanted to know how to make my own Qt Quick Controls 2 styles, and this is where I've started from.
Sounds real good! Do you have some screen shots on the page?
K
You mean in the README.md? I don't think I've ever added screenshots to a README.md before heh.

Yeah I thought there would be some on such a visual topic. Thought it might be due to watching on the phone
