You shouldn't need to do a redraw faster than every 16ms (60fps). Why do you need to plot faster than that?

You may wish to profile PySide2 and Qt - build Qt and PySide2 with debug symbols (probably fine to use a release Python build), then run python through valgrind. The results can be analyzed using kcachegrind.
You can then spot what the bottlenecks are at the function level.

If you can come up with a simple example that shows the slowdown you see, you can report it as a bug. I guess I'd start by reporting it to pyqtgraph - that's not something that we (The Qt Company) maintain.

I'm not familiar with pyqtgraph, so I'm not sure.
