Yes, on Linux that's the most convenient way to build wheels specially with cibuildwheel

We don't rely on those images nor use cibuildwheels internally. Our dependencies are bases on target system requirements, so we think on the end machine where people use pyside and shiboken rather than configurations for others to compile or create qt or pyside packages.
So that's why with the version bump of glibc in our linux ci config we created the 2.39 many Linux wheels for that
But I guess it's not so difficult to create a new image for that right? Because they could select a conf with 2.39 glibc

I don't know how difficult it is, I would say, it makes sense to no go above the latest supported libc version by "official" manylinux images

Weird, in fact 2.39 is a valid platform for auditwheel, the best would be that I ask for the corresponding docker image 😅.
in some cases, we can do both, but in the versioning case, we need to follow Qt minimal requirements, even if they are still not available in Python
idk what was the deal when cibuildwheel was incorporated

but in any case, most people are in pyconus mode so might reply by the end of may :P

That's fine for me, there are not so much ARM Linux laptops or desktops, specially in academic research.
