We have the zoomlinechart already in the repository https://code.qt.io/cgit/pyside/pyside-setup.git/tree/examples/charts/zoomlinechart maybe you meant something different with "file it" instead of "contribute it"?
PS: Keep in mind QtGraphs is replacing QtCharts, so for new examples/projects I recommend to use QtGraphs

Did you check the widgetgraphgallery example? maybe the functionality you are looking for is there: https://code.qt.io/cgit/pyside/pyside-setup.git/tree/examples/graphs/3d/widgetgraphgallery
The gallery is (i) ugly (https://imgur.com/a/AYypZY1) and (ii) is 3D. I suspect that I can add only two axes to get a 2D plot.
