Qt for Python (PySide/Shiboken)

When I use pyinstaller to package the pyside6 program, I find that the packaged executable file is very large. Does anyone know how to optimize it?

Is there a guide for the vscode plugin for qml? Do I need to install Qt itself separately? Currently I use PySide6 and it doesn't work, saying Failed to import QtQuick.Layouts. Are your import paths set up properly? Did you set the "QT_QML_GENERATE_QMLLS_INI" CMake variable on your project to "ON"? [import]

pyinstaller should have built-in the selection of the modules that you are only using, I remember that update from some time ago. I hope I'm not confusing it. I'd recommend you to try either 'pyside6-deploy' directly, which underneath uses nuitka, which IMHO is superior to PyInstaller in many ways.

I remember that Pyinstaller was packaging more then needed when creating a dir installer

I haven't use the plugin https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=TheQtCompany.qt to be honest, but in case it doesn't work out of the box wrt QtQuick aspects, I'd open a bug report on their JIRA project, or ask in the forum. From what I know, there is no much Python support there, but they are working on it: https://bugreports.qt.io/projects/VSCODEEXT/issues/VSCODEEXT-3?filter=allopenissues (notice that VSCODEEXT is the JIRA for that extension, not PYSIDE)

then, it's crucial you report the problem so it get fixed! I sadly don't know how to use vscode :( so I don't even know how to try it

Do they accept issues from PySide side？

For sure they will consider it, just make sure to open it under the VSCODEEXT project. If you explain the functionality, and what didn't work, they might share some incorrect step, or do some fixes for it to work :)
