Question: are slot decorators necessary to be set for methods that are going to serve as slots?

They are not *necessary*, but you should add them. Those decorators has a meaning while registering Python methods into the Qt metaobject. You might have situations where your slots might not properly work if you haven't use the Slot decorator.

This is actually interesting! I saw some co-workers DO set those decorators and I NEVER do it. I always wondered what the point is! Is there a definite example?

I don't have one by hand, but that allow slots to be registered before any other python method, I remember there was some issues hen using slots in some methods, while the slot function was positionally declared after such slot...

well, you have 3 options: 1. you add the entries by hand in your local .pyi file, 2. you help us fixing the issue :) 3. or just wait...and hopefully for 5.15.1 that's solved :P
