Hm, neither https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/linguist-manager.html nor https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/linguist-programmers.html point to how to create such a .pro file.
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qmake-project-files.html makes me believe it's kind of a Makefile.
https://myprogrammingnotes.com/write-qt-pro-file.html assures me, that it's more or less a plain text file (with certain keywords)
@cmaureir Do I read https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/linguist-programmers.html#deploying-translations correct in QM files should be version controlled?

But https://www.toptal.com/developers/gitignore/api/qt is telling me to ignore them …
Hey, to be honest I have never use qm files for translations :( I'm aware of the deployment of those in case they are not installed. It seems that the website you point, toptal (which I don't know :O ) just don't support them, but I'd say you can just justify it to the toptal people and tell them you are pushing qm files because they might not exist on the system. You are doing for that website/company right?

I couldn't see a special reason behind it.
Do you think it's worth adding to git in projects?
I'd fill a ticket with TopTal then

I really don't know, hopefully someone else has some opinion, since as I mentioned I haven't done any real application with translations :(
