Hello, I'm trying to use QListView to show list of strings. After implementing data and rowCount methods in QAbstractListModel the list remains empty. How to fill it with lines?

Hi, Sorry but I can't remember if something announced about this, and can't find by search,, what is the future of (PySide2 / 5.15.2)?,,, please chose one of next answers :P . A. It will be updated and released in PYPI, as previous releases (but at low priority vs PySide6). B. It will just stay at current state and all new versions will be just for PySide6,,, i.e. it's technically dead and no updates are expected. C. (I think this is the state, but not sure) future updates will be available as source only. And if C. is the real scenario,, will it have patched releases, for example 5.15.3, 5.15.4, etc. or it will just be un-versioned continuously updated repository?

I still can't understand it 100% "^^ ,,, but still it doesn't explicitly tells what will happen to PySide2/6 ,, Do the PYPI wheels considered as commercial binaries or what are they in this complicated model off Qt :/ Actually I can't also understand is the Normal-Release vs LTS-Release is valid in case of PySide,, as it seems always has one active version which is the latest,, always progressing in a single path.
the commercial wheels are hosted on a private server, so when you access your Qt account, you can download the wheels from there.
that's why we are focus on pyside6, since 6.1 and 6.2 will bring most of the the 'popular' extra qt modules

Thanks for clearing things up, but I still has 2 questions if you can answer,, 1. if there is some bug-fix in the PySide it self part not related to Qt-Version,, it won't happen for PySide2, right? it will be reflected (if applicable) to the next version of PySide6. 2. the latest PySide 6.x will always be available in PyPi,,, as I understood from another blog that next Qt releases will be available as source codes only but in our case "PySide" it includes compiled DLL files!

Sure, 1. Yes, if there is a pyside only bug on pyside2 5.15.2, and it's fixed it, it will be available on 6.x.y for open source users (and 5.15.3 for commercial users). However, in the past we had nasty issues that really were causing users to be unable to use the module (for example, GIL related threading issues), in that emergency case, we would do a 5.15.2.1 as we did in the past for 5.14.2. 2. There is a difference here, the idea of Qt 6 is to be stripped from the 'optional' addons. So Qt/C++ is focusing on providing binary for the essential modules, and conan-based instructions for you to build your favorite addon. Since 'building stuff' is a no-no for Python users, we will be included the compiled dll/so of those 'optional' addons.

As long as there is a open source qt 6 release, we will be having the same versions on pypi

thanks for bringing those concerns, I know the story behind Qt and PySide might be a bit unclear time to time, so feel free to raise any concern ;)

How do I display an Item depending on what state a swtich (for instance) has? I can't find any properties where I can pass deactivated: true. In may case, I want to show the options, but only make them selectable if you turn a Switch.

question: how can you set the default style (background-color, etc..) for links that appear in QLabel ?

the only think i can imagine is to set all your URLs with a specific objectname, so you can add then the style with QLabel#yourName { background-color: ... } because I don't think it's possible to detect that from a QLabel.
